Preface to Shofar The Sound of Covenant

When I first visited Israel in 2002, I brought back a small ram’s horn. At that time, I had no understanding about its significance. To me, it was just a nice souvenir to remember my visit to the Holy Land.I only started to blow the shofar in 2005 when the Lord told me to sound the shofar every Friday at midnight.

Trumpet Angels

Trumpet Angels

One day, I had a vision of an angel blowing the trumpet on a Christmas float. I was eventually led to be involved with Celebrate Christmas in Singapore for seven years, blowing the shofar during the Christmas season with a group of shofar blowers called “Trumpet Angels”.

In 2006, I imported a shipment of one hundred and twenty shofars from Israel. I was reminded in 2 Chronicles 5:12-14 of the dedication of the temple where there were one hundred and twenty priests with trumpets. They were standing east of the altar and when they sounded their trumpets together with the singers and the musicians praising God, the glory of God came and filled the temple. This shipment of shofars was to declare prophetically that one day, one hundred and twenty shofars will be sounded in the east to usher in His glory.

I began to conduct workshops to teach about the prophetic significance of the shofar. Opportunities also came for me to gather a team to sound the shofar in various conferences and events in Singapore and in other nations.

120 Shofars

Jubilee Celebration with 120 Shofars

This book is the result of requests for the teaching notes from workshop participants. As I could not cover everything in the workshops what I felt the Lord wanted me to share because of time constraints, I decided to write them down in a book.

May this book help you understand the prophetic significance of the shofar, what the shofar is, the use of the shofar, and how to blow the shofar.

JDOP

100 Shofar blowers gathered with over 50,000 Christians to declare God’s Kingdom in Singapore at the Jubilee Day of Prayer (JDOP), 2015.

Anazing and powerful to see a team of this size sounding the shofar in restoration of the Tabernacle of David and Solomons temple dedication, to prepare the way of the Lord. Thankyou for writing this book, and carrying through with restoring the ancient ruins.
